This table has been created using the Aircraft Cannon table from the Dragon Magazine #113 article called “Top [Secret] Guns”. The QRC code was developed using the code “D”-Dragon, “113”-# issue, & “A”(letter) indicates where the cannon was placed on the original chart. I also added two fields that I thought might be helpful for the game including Country, and Action Type of the cannon. In the article, QRC’s D113M, D113N, & D113O were generic 20mm, 23mm, & 30mm cannons. As I like to link the weapons with some sort of image (similar to what I did with the generic shotguns), I elected to select certain common aircraft cannons that could be used as examples of those generic cannons. As the article did not mention any sources, I did not have any specific info to refer to so I used some best judgement. It is not really anticipated that this area will be used much in any of our gaming. Just inserting for completeness.

Notes:
1. QRC D113M (generic 20mm) – In the article, only one plane had the 20mm cannon; A-4 Skyhawk. Looking into this, that jet had the Colt Mk12 canon. However, the weapon seemed to not have many other general uses on other planes. Instead, research pulled up a very common 20mm cannon called the Hispano Mk-5. Much more commonly used in a large variety of planes and countries. Selected this weapon for the generic 20mm.
2. QRC D113N (generic 23mm) – Research on this weapon pointed to a lot of Soviet MIG’s using a 23mm canon. The Grayazev-Shipunov GSh-23 was a common denominator on these MIG’s. Selected this weapon for the generic 23mm.
3. QRC D113O (generic 30mm) – This weapon was the most difficult to arrive at a selection. Only one plane in the article used a 30mm generic – Mirage III. Considered the M230 30mm chain gun but that was on helicopters. Considered the GAU-8 30mm but that was only on the Warthog plane. Research found that another common 30mm cannon (GIAT 30M 791 or DEFA 791) was commonly used on a variety of newer French planes. Therefore, elected to select the GIAT as the generic 30mm. Lastly, note that research has found that the Mirage III looks to have carried a DEFA 552 30mm cannon (I would suggest to substitute the DEFA 553 canon on the Mirage III in the article instead of using the generic 30mm stats) . This info was found on several websites and also in The Encyclopedia of World Air Power (pgs 128-129).
