Another mission where I have very limited notes.  I do, however, have a fairly nice map for this one. The map is old and the colors are fading so I had to enhance them a bit. From the map, it is clear that the agents had to find a small camp/base of some kind in a swamp.  The camp looked like it was just a storage location for all kinds of missiles. To do this, they had to navigate through swamp land where guard towers were periodically placed.  Looked like lots of NPC’s with heavier weaponry and the odd instance of 5.56mm Super Bullets.

A recent mission in Iran has resulted in a loss of documents vital to the training of agents. Additionally, recent events in Chad turned into a debacle.  Chauncey Enterprises has issued a general bulletin to all agents.  All agents are being recalled or replaced from the field.  Agents are directed to report to the nearest safehouse for an immediate issuance of a new cover and/or identity.  All previous places of residence and covers are now inactive.  Once the agents contact a safehouse for these new covers, they will immediately cease to exist.  The agents on the mission are directed to go to Sea World in Florida and protect someone named Sandra Kemptf.

I am guessing at the players names due to just a few notes in my file.  In particular, I’m not certain which Steve this was.  I’m assuming Steve Pfeiffer but I’m not 100% certain.  The map of the mission is in this post.  It is not a great map at all. However, this mission has bred tons of jokes about Sea World merchandise like visors and duffel bags.

Hare Retrieval

Mission was for agents to kidnap a Yamir ‘el Harraq.  The man has been in the employ of many terrorist organizations in the past decade.  Chauncey wants the agents to kidnap him and take him to a safe house so he can be interrogated.  The map of the house shows a 2 story structure in the shape of a large, squared off “M”.  The house has lots of security features that the agents have to defeat to get into it.  Information obtained from the kidnapping results in the agents going to an airfield on the border between Iraq and Iran.

Although my notes don’t specifically say this, I believe this is the mission that fell apart at the Iranian air base and ended up in Chad.  I remember being out of town with the other guys at their apartment at Penn State.  I remember that it was getting very late in the evening and the agents began doing things that I had not prepared for.  I had to “make things up and get on with the game” as best I could.  Next thing I know, they were taking on the Chadian Air Force, such as it was.  I’m sure I don’t have much written about this as I was probably completely exhausted by that time.  I’m sure that I could guess as to which agents were on this mission but I didn’t write anything down on that.  The events from this mission had ramifications that lasted through many more. This mission was where my comment to one of the players questions about the mission was “I don’t know what mission this is.  Mine ended an hour ago.” came from.

Operation Caracas

Agent Highlander was hired by an agency called DSMO. In our TS gaming world, we all had several different agencies we frequently dealt with.  Chauncey, DSMO, & E.R.I.N. were generally considered the “good” guys.  On the other side were agencies such as W.S. Petroleum, ICON, The Four Horseman, Lords of Quarmal, The Fires of Roelant, Oriental Business Interests (OBI), and others.

This mission was about counterfeit Inca relics showing up on the market and being passed for genuine.  DSMO investigators tracked the trail back to an area 100 miles outside of Caracas, Venezuela.  The person they believe was in charge of this operation was Maria Hessley, daughter of a very rich Venezuelan oil magnet named James Hessley.  The oil business that Mr. Hessley operated had a sudden and unexplained collapse and Mr. Hessley disappeared. They had a huge estate on the top of a mountain in the general area of the suspected activity.  Agent Highlander was sent to deal with this issue.  The map from the estate is what is with this post.  Turns out that this mission was the first any of us have done a clean assassination.  Shortly before this mission, another agent tried to accomplish this feat in Indianapolis but failed.  On a side note, sometimes administrators need to be adept at dodging flying projectiles.

This mission occurred after the embassy bombing in Beirut.  The US Government contacted DSMO and wanted to hire agents to just go into Beirut and kill and destroy as much as possible out of revenge for the embassy bombing.  The agents were not allowed to return to any Western embassy.  They had to travel to the Israeli border to be picked up.  Agents were also able to request and equipment that they feel they needed from the Israelis.  This mission was unusual as it is rare that the agents are let off the proverbial leash to this extent.  Lots of explosions and mayhem ensued.  Oh, and for those agents wondering, YES, this IS the mission about mass destruction and mayhem in Beirut you were looking for. I ran Operation Allah much later and it happened to be located in the same area of Beirut, Lebanon as this one.

This mission was the very first one I ran.  Chauncey Enterprises had a silver mine in Gila, New Mexico.  A mysterious mine cave in had occurred that sealed the mine.  Soon after, another business operation called Vin Packaging sprung up across the Gila River approximately 2 miles away that was producing packing materials.  A trucking accident thereafter on one of the plant’s trucks, police recovered a small silver bar.  Suspicious of the new plant, Chauncey hires agents to go into the area and investigate what happened and to shut it down.  This mission became famous for players understanding about going into a mission during daylight hours versus at night.  The original map of that first mission is with this post.

So although I did not write down the agents code names, I do have the players names written down.  Since this was so long ago I am making an educated guess as to the characters that the players played.
